New SEO Partnership Program

Wednesday, October 14th, 2009

If you’re a copywriter, web designer, site developer, ad agency, printing company or online marketing company, you already know how important SEO can be to the success of your clients. The trouble is, successful SEO, the kind that increases traffic and revenues substantially, requires dedicated resources. So, unless you have staff already dedicated to optimizing the web properties you write or design for your clients, those web sites are not going to be performing their best for your clients.

The remedy? Partner with an SEO firm that:
a) offers SEO solutions proven to get results
b) values its partner relationships
3) has a professional, experienced staff that can fill in your SEO gap (and interface with your clients, if desired)

While we’ve been partnering with plenty of companies for nearly a decade, we’ve finally solidified our partnership plan. We offer different options depending on how you may prefer to work with us. If you’re a copywriter, you may want to simply refer your clients to us for our generous commissions. If you’re an agency, talk to us about a white label solution or even creating a co-branded set of services.

The Important Role of Graphic Design in Optimizing Sites for the Search Engines

Friday, September 4th, 2009

I feel a bit guilty and I know if our in-house graphic designer knew of this oversight, she would not be too happy with me.

But the fact is graphic design, or site architecture more specifically, is just as important a component to consider when optimizing your site for the search engines as anything else. A page’s architecture elements, if incorrect, will prevent your site’s content from being crawled by the search engines.

So in essence, site architecture is the most important element. If the search engine spider cannot catalog your content, your search engine rankings will indeed suffer.

Many website graphic designers out there may have creative and technical skill to build you a premier looking website – but if they’re not familiar with SEO and how to factor that into your design, you will probably be pretty disappointed with your site’s performance.

Elements like frames, flash and javascript can be disastrous for your website from a search engine optimization perspective.

There are too many items to detail here in one post. That’s why a new section, Site Architecture, is being added to the search engine optimization e-blog. This post is to get you thinking about site architecture/graphic design and the vital role it plays in building your site’s search engine rankings.

Check back often for new posts on this subject. It’s being mixed in with everything else so don’t expect much in the beginning. But as time goes along, we hope to be the one-stop source for all things SEO, including graphics.

“Is Something Wrong with Your Design?”

Tuesday, February 12th, 2008

I was amused by Bryan Eisenberg’s recent blog posted titled “Is Something Wrong with Your Design?”

As a firm that is often requested to redesign web sites, a significant amount of energy goes into determinging “why” the company wants to change its design, oftentimes into something completely new. Bryan recounts running into a top brand marketer at the recent Internet Retailer conference who is saying they need to redesign – but have no justification for doing so.

There are circumstances where a redesign will be necessary – for instance if your firm is seeking to change how it’s perceived. But Bryan is absolutely right when he says there’s no excuse for redesign without testing nowadays. With multivariate and A/B testing tools readily available
